On August 24th at 10:00 a.m. the starting flag was raised again at the parking lot of the “Huma Eleven” shopping center in Simmering. Over 200 vehicles arrived there in time for breakfast and the drivers’ meeting by organizer Rudolf Bromberger, and then took on the various special stages and challenges at Cobenzl and the Vienna Woods according to the route in the road book.
At around 5 p.m. the participants arrived at Döblinger Steg, where all the cars were parked in a well-organized manner. After a sufficient supply of Almdudler and many conversations about the experiences of the first day, the convoy set off under police escort for the traditional ring parade, which was once again a special experience accompanied by many spectators. The participants were then allowed to drive into the Prater for dinner, where a delicious dinner was served in the Prater Alm.
On August 25th, the participants were welcomed at MA 48 with an extensive breakfast buffet. After a short speech by the organizers, the first participants started again at 10 a.m. This time the route led to the city center, where a few passing controls and special stages awaited the participants. Thanks to the support of Petra B., Werner P. and Silvia P., the JDOST pass control took place again at the exchange.
Around midday the first participants arrived at Donaupark, where we were able to present a JDOST club stand thanks to our members. Werner Sch., Gerhard K. and Christian P. took over the construction of the stand and made an E-Type Series 2 and a Triumph TR250 available for viewing. Silvia K. successfully took over the sale of our club products again.
The award ceremony began at around 3:30 p.m., where the best 3 participants in the JDOST pass control received a prize from Jaguar Land Rover. Some JDOST participants won a trophy. Helmut M + Konstanze H. 5th place in the class ranking and 56th place in the overall ranking; Heinrich and Maria W. 16th place in the class ranking and 48th place in the overall ranking; Peter T + Petra Z 11th place in the class ranking and 35th place in the overall ranking; Michael + Brigitte B. 4th place in the class ranking and 18th place in the overall ranking; Wolfgang + Marion Sch. 1 place in the class standings, best British car and 2 place overall.
The overall results can be read on the Vienna Classic Days 2024 website.
Many thanks to our members for their active support this weekend. We would also like to thank Dieter P. from Jaguar Land Rover for the prizes provided and of course the biggest thank you goes to the organizer and his team, who have once again managed to organize a great event.
We look forward to next year!
