On November 4th from 8:45 a.m. the members of the JDOST met at our sponsor Lucky Car in Schwechat. After coffee and cake and the welcome from the board, 30 participants set off in 16 cars towards Petronell Carnuntum.
The route led via Ebergassing, Sarasdorf, Pachfurth and at 11 a.m. we arrived at the parking lot in the Roman town. The group was already expected there and in the sunny autumn weather we were able to find out very interesting information about life in a Roman city at that time. The city tour took us, among other things, to the Villa Urbana, the House of Lucius and the Roman thermal baths. After the tour, we had lunch in the Forum Culinarium, where a specially prepared seating area was already waiting for our group.
At 2:00 p.m. the participants set off towards Podersdorf. The only completely preserved windmill was visited there. The owner happily welcomed the participants and a very detailed and interesting tour of the mill followed.
The last stage starts at 4:30 p.m. along Lake Neusiedl to the Wlasitsch wine inn in Klingenbach. The rooms were moved into and everyone met in the wine cellar from 6 p.m. After a champagne reception and the president’s speech, the culinary part began. This time too, day turned into night and the last participants left the wine cellar at 2:00 a.m.
On Sunday the members met for breakfast and there were a few more conversations about cars until the last participants headed home around 11:30 a.m.
