More than 250 classic car enthusiasts from all over Austria came on Saturday September 30th. Together for the 4th time at one of the largest classic car rallies in Lower Austria. Since 2019, the event has been attracting classic car and pleasure lovers from all over Lower Austria and the surrounding area. With an impressive 130 participants and 4 JDOST teams, the rally was a huge success.
With a total of 125 participants, vehicles from 5 eras, the event showcased an impressive variety of historic cars. The oldest vehicle was a ‘Lagonda T2 Compressor’ from 1930, while a Jaguar XJ 40 from 1993 was one of the youngest participants. Also this year there was a prominent guest in the starting field: Rudi Stohl, a long-time rally driver, took part in his Lada 1300 S.
This year it happened again on the last Saturday in September. The pleasure trip started promptly at 9:00 a.m. in Gerasdorf near Vienna. Mayor Mag. Alexander Vojta and his successor, local councilor Hans-Jürgen Peitzmeier, gave the starting signal by waving the starting flag. In the morning the route led through Stammersdorfer Kellergasse and on to the warehouse in Großmugl, where the first of a total of 5 timing tests took place. All tests were carried out under the direction of Margarete Trümmel and her team. The route then continued and led to Hollabrunn for the next timing test. From Hollabrunn the picturesque route led through the Weinviertel to the north across the border to Excalibur City. From around 12 noon, the participants spent their lunch break at ‘Terra Technica’, the largest museum for jukeboxes and pinballs. Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Seunig, founder of Excalibur City and passionate classic car collector, welcomed the participants and took the opportunity to exchange experiences and share his extensive knowledge about these fascinating vehicles.
After lunch and a quick timing test in the Terra Technica parking lot, the route continued via Mailberg to Dürnleis to the warehouse, where the fourth tricky timing test was held. The vintage cars then moved on over the Leiser Mountains, one of the most beautiful areas in the Weinviertel, towards Gaweinstal. There was a short coffee break there before we went to Niederhollabrunn for the final timing test. When they finally arrived in Seyring, the participants were welcomed by numerous spectators. At the finish line, Maibritt, the voice from Marchfeld, welcomed the participants in her own classic car, a Cadillac, and performed two of her songs.Afterwards, the award ceremony took place in the Seyring village inn together with Mayor Alexander Vojta and Maibritt.
At the award ceremony in Seyring, the respective era placements for our members were awarded as follows:
