On 16 January, the first club evening of 2025 took place at our regular venue, Hotel Restaurant Panoramaschenke, where we were once again able to welcome the Chairman of the ÖMVV, Robert Krickl. This year’s General meeting was held at the same time.

Wolfgang Schöbel welcomed all participants and explained the agenda of the General meeting.

This was followed by the treasurer’s report with a detailed explanation of the club’s financial situation and the discharge of the treasurer and the board by the auditor. An honorary membership of the JDOST was then awarded for the first time.

Michael and Alexandra Wawra explained their idea and suggestion. Marion Schöbel should be awarded honorary membership of the JDOST due to her tireless commitment to the JDOST by planning events, carrying out a wide range of club work, preparing the Christmas party and all related agendas and much more, but also because of the unrestricted support of our chairman Wolgang Schöbel, who is also passionate about the club, true to the motto ‘I live for my club’. These are all special services to the club, which is why the Wawra family formally submitted a corresponding application. This motion was unanimously approved by the members to great applause and touching sympathy. Marion Schöbel received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a small gift.

This was followed by a preview of the activities planned for 2025 and the decision to increase membership fees in 2026.

In the second part of the evening, we welcomed Robert Krickl, President of the ÖMVV. Robert Krickl gave us a highly interesting overview of the activities of the Austrian Motor Veterans Association (umbrella organisation for historic vehicles). The highlights of the presentation were insights into the organisation of the ÖMVV and the FIVA including national and international lobbying, the initiatives ‘Startermotor’ and ‘Oldtimertage’ as well as examples of the FIVA ID-Card. Robert Krickl was then available to answer questions.

The last guests and members left the venue after 11 pm. We are already looking forward to the next events.
